We are proud to top this year's Real School's Guide ranked list for 'Best Primary School in Gloucestershire'!

This relatively recent way of ranking schools comprehensively considers 45 different data points in arriving at the school's 5-star judgement. It then compares this with all other state-funded schools in the county and decides 'Best Primary School' each year.

The ranking formula considers the impact of different weightings of public data such as pupil attainment, pupil progress, attendance, gender gaps in achievement, teacher-to-pupil ratios and more. The idea behind the Real School Guides approach is to cut deeper than just National Performance Tables (of which Blue Coat appeared both 9th and 12th in Gloucestershire in recent years) and give a fuller picture of the school's quality of provision.

On a broader scale, the ranked score puts Blue Coat just outside the Top 300 (311, to be precise) of the 14,749 state primary schools considered. That puts Blue Coat in the top 2% of schools in the country for its overall score.

A big achievement by the whole school community and a great way to start 2020 with the school getting some welcomed recognition for all the hard work that everyone puts in to it each day, including, not least the pupils, staff team, governors and parent community. Well done, everyone!
